Original Watercolor Paintings
Biography
The art work of Laine Dobson has become well known around the country only within the last few years. Upon his graduation from Western State College in 2006, with a Bachelor's degree in Fine Art, he was quickly immersed in the life of a professional artist. As a guest in over 50 juried art shows in just under 6 years, he has created a following of patrons that continue to support and invest in his promising future.
Most recently, he was selected as one of Southwest Art Magazine's "21 Under 31" artists for his painting "Eventide Day 2", depicting a rural barn scene from Western Colorado.
Although he continues to pursue a variety of mediums, his current passion lies in watercolor painting. With an innovative technique for sealing and varnishing his pieces, he is able to produce very large works while retaining the lasting archival qualities of traditionally displayed watercolors.
Viewers of his work will find a variety of subject matter including images of Europe, people and portraits, and even some abstracts. He is, however, most well known for his depictions of rural life and the beauty of the Western United States.
